ZANU PF RELIES ON VIOLENCE, NOT PROMISES, TO STAY IN POWER
In Zimbabwe, the upcoming elections will not be about promises or hope for a better future. Instead, they will be filled with violence. ZANU PF, the ruling party, has shown over the years that it will not deliver on any promises made. In the 2018 elections, they made many promises, but most of them turned out to be fake. They failed to bring the change people needed, which is why many see the party as illegitimate.
ZANU PF has been in power for a long time, and during that time, they have done more harm than good. The state is failing, and things are getting worse. People are suffering because basic services like healthcare and education are not being provided. The economy is struggling, and there are very few jobs available. Even with all these problems, ZANU PF is determined to stay in power. Instead of fixing these problems, they want to keep control through violence and fear.
During the last elections, the promises ZANU PF made were not kept. This showed that they were never serious about improving people’s lives. The lack of action also proved that ZANU PF has no real political will to change things. Real change can only come through true political and constitutional reforms, but ZANU PF is not interested in that. They are more focused on staying in power, no matter the cost.
Now, as the next elections come closer, ZANU PF is not even trying to make promises. Instead of telling people what they will do to make things better, they are relying on violence and intimidation. It seems like they believe that as long as they can scare people, they don’t need to offer any hope or solutions.
ZANU PF’s aim is to keep power in their hands by any means necessary. They want to create a one-party state, where they can continue to plunder and take the country’s resources without anyone questioning them. They want to operate without being held accountable, without any transparency or responsibility. The laws that should protect the people and demand accountability have been weakened, allowing ZANU PF to act without consequences.
The violence they rely on is part of their strategy. It is a way to control people and make sure no one stands up against them. ZANU PF knows that people are unhappy with how things are going in the country, but instead of trying to fix the problems, they use force to silence anyone who speaks out. Violence is their way of keeping control and making sure they don’t lose power.
The judiciary, which is supposed to be independent, has also been compromised. Instead of protecting the people and upholding the law, it is now being used to help ZANU PF. The courts no longer serve the people fairly; they have become tools for the party to maintain its power. This makes it even harder for anyone to challenge ZANU PF, as the legal system is no longer on the side of justice.
Because of all this, there will be no real promises from ZANU PF during this election. They have already shown that they cannot deliver what they promised before. People cannot expect healthcare, education, electricity, or jobs from them because they have failed to provide these things for years. Instead of focusing on improving the country, they are more concerned with holding onto power.
ZANU PF’s failure is clear. They have had years to govern properly, but instead, they have brought the country closer to collapse. As the state continues to fail, the people are left to suffer, with no hope of change coming from those in power.
In the end, this election will not be about real change. It will be about ZANU PF trying to stay in power through violence, not promises. The people of Zimbabwe deserve better, but as long as ZANU PF continues to rule, the cycle of oppression and failure will continue.
