MNANGAGWA’S PROMISES OF FIGHTING CORRUPTION EXPOSED AS EMPTY WORDS

When the current president of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, was in exile, he feared for his life. He never imagined that he would one day be in power. While in exile, he wrote a letter saying he would return to fix the country, including stopping corruption. He used the issue of corruption as one of the main reasons for supporting the military coup that removed long-time dictator Robert Mugabe. At that time, many people believed Mnangagwa. They saw him as someone who could bring change, but little did they know they were supporting someone even worse. Mnangagwa has turned out to be the godfather of corruption. Many of the people he appointed, or his own family members, have been involved in all the big corruption scandals in Zimbabwe.

For those who understood politics well, the idea of Mnangagwa fighting corruption was never believable. It was like setting fire to your own house while you were still inside. It simply didn’t make sense. Why would Mnangagwa fight corruption when he benefits the most from it? He has been part of the system for years. Under his rule, the country has continued to suffer. The government is not functioning well, and Zimbabwe is now close to collapsing as a state. This is not just a problem for Zimbabwe, but for the whole region. If Zimbabwe falls apart, it will bring chaos to the rest of southern Africa.

The people of Zimbabwe, who have been suffering for many years, need to start asking themselves important questions. They need to look closely at what is really happening. Why would someone who was part of so many corrupt governments now say he wants to fight corruption? Mnangagwa was in many of Mugabe’s cabinets. He worked with the very people who have destroyed the country. So why would he suddenly care about corruption now? The answer is simple: it’s all about protecting himself. Mnangagwa is not serious about fighting corruption. He is only trying to make sure he stays in power and continues to enjoy the benefits that come with it. If he loses power, he risks being prosecuted for the crimes he has committed and losing access to the country’s resources, which he and his allies have been stealing for years.

The people of Zimbabwe were scammed. They were promised change, but all they got was more suffering. The government, led by Mnangagwa and his ZANU-PF party, has completely failed. They have turned the country into a disaster. The people’s welfare has been ignored, and basic services are not being provided. The government is more focused on enriching itself than helping the citizens. They have looted the country’s resources and left the people with nothing.

Mnangagwa has shown that he is not interested in fixing Zimbabwe. Instead, he has made things worse. His government is corrupt, and his promises to fight corruption were nothing but lies. The people of Zimbabwe deserve better than this. They deserve a government that cares about them and works to improve their lives, not one that only takes from them.

As Zimbabwe moves closer to complete collapse, it is important for the people to realize that the real enemy is the corrupt leadership. Mnangagwa is not a hero, and he never intended to be one. He is simply another dictator, like Mugabe before him, who is only interested in staying in power and getting rich at the expense of the people.

The time has come for Zimbabweans to wake up and demand real change. They must hold their leaders accountable and push for a government that truly works for the people. Corruption has destroyed the country, and only the people can fix it by demanding honesty, transparency, and justice from their leaders. If they don’t, Zimbabwe will continue to suffer under the rule of corrupt politicians like Mnangagwa, and the dream of a better future will remain out of reach.
